# Responsibilities

> Who is responsible for what — operationally and from a compliance perspective

Clear roles are essential — operationally and from a compliance perspective.

## You (merchant / installer)

You stay responsible for the commercial side:

* selling the energy upgrade;
* defining scope and pricing;
* owning the customer relationship;
* deciding where Prets appears in your flow.

You are never required to:

* assess financing suitability;
* explain financial products;
* collect or approve regulated decisions.

## The homeowner

The customer actively drives the process. They:

* enter information;
* explore scenarios;
* choose whether and how to proceed;
* submit applications deliberately.

Nothing is hidden. Nothing is locked in without confirmation.

## Prets

Prets supports the decision and the process. It:

* explains cost, impact, and payback in plain terms;
* shows payment options side by side;
* guides customers through required steps and documents;
* monitors progress and highlights where people get stuck.

Prets never:

* recommends options;
* defaults customers into financing;
* approves or rejects applications.

## Funding providers

Providers remain fully responsible for:

* acceptance criteria;
* checks and approvals;
* contracts and final outcomes.

Prets only facilitates a cleaner, more complete application.
